Overview

ExcITe CUP 2026 is a flagship event organised to foster innovation, creativity, and technical excellence among students. It provides a competitive platform where participants showcase their skills, collaborate with peers, and gain exposure to real-world challenges in computing, design, and sports.

General Eligibility

• Participants must be currently enrolled in a University degree program.
• Each participant must present a valid university ID card on the day of the event.
• Registration is mandatory for participation.
• The decision of judges/referees will be final in all cases.

Registration Fee

PKR 1,500 per participant

Scoring & Points System

• Programming, Quiz, Software Project, Poster Design & Thematic Video: 1st = 3pts, 2nd = 2pts, 3rd = 1pt
• Table Tennis & E-Gaming: universities receive half the above points.
• University with highest cumulative points declared Overall Winner.
• In case of a tie, ExcITe CUP Trophy & prize amount is shared.
• If CUST (host) secures highest points, the trophy is awarded to the next highest university.

Competitions at a Glance

ON-SPOT PROGRAMMING

Teams will solve a set of programming problems within a specified time using C++, Java, or Python.

Prizes: 1st — PKR 20,000  |  2nd — PKR 10,000  |  Max 3 members

• Each team will use a single workstation.
• Problems must be submitted within the given time in the specified folder.
• Stationery will be provided.
• Ranked by number of problems solved; tie-breaker: least total time.
• Shields for top 3 teams.

SOFTWARE PROJECT EXHIBITION

Teams will present their undergraduate academic projects to a panel of judges in a professional environment.

Prizes: 1st — PKR 20,000  |  2nd — PKR 10,000  |  Max 3 members

• Participants must bring a complete working project.
• A project poster (2 ft wide × 5 ft long) is mandatory.
• Poster must include Title, Abstract, and Tools & Technologies.
• Shields for top 3 teams.

QUIZ COMPETITION

A team-based competition covering core Computer Science subjects including Programming, DSA, AI, Networks, and more.

Prizes: 1st — PKR 20,000  |  2nd — PKR 10,000  |  Max 3 members

• Each question must be answered within 20 seconds.
• Teams must listen to the full question before responding.
• Domains: Programming, Data Structures, DAA, OS, Databases, Automata, Software Engineering, Logic Design, Computer Architecture, Networks, Information Security & AI.
• Shields for top 3 teams.

POSTER DESIGN COMPETITION

Participants will design a poster on a given theme using digital tools such as Adobe Photoshop or CorelDRAW.

Prizes: 1st — PKR 10,000  |  2nd — PKR 5,000  |  Individual

• Participants are advised to bring their own laptops (systems may be provided if needed).
• Posters must be submitted within the allocated time.
• Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, PDF.
• Minimum size: 560 × 1100 pixels.

E-GAMING (FIFA 19)

A 1vs1 e-sports competition on PlayStation 4 using FIFA 19. Joystick provided by organisers. Home/away selection by toss.

Prizes: 1st — PKR 10,000  |  2nd — PKR 5,000  |  1 vs 1

• Home/away team selection by toss; toss winner chooses team and match type (international or club).
• No customised settings — legacy defending & custom tactics not allowed.
• A player is given only 1 minute to make substitutions during the match.
• Failure within first 20 minutes → full match restart. After 20 min → match resumes with goals and time preserved.
• Decision of in-charge will be final and cannot be challenged.

E-GAMING (TEKKEN 7)

A 1vs1 fighting game competition on PlayStation 4 using Tekken 7. Best of 3 rounds format.

Prizes: 1st — PKR 10,000  |  2nd — PKR 5,000  |  1 vs 1 (Best of 3)

• Timer: 60 seconds per round. Best of 3 rounds.
• Winner must keep character; Loser may switch.
• Stage Select: Random. Character Customisations: Off.
• All base characters are allowed in the tournament.
• Only PS4 controllers are allowed.

TABLE TENNIS

Singles table tennis competition with separate categories for boys and girls on a knockout basis.

Prizes: 1st — PKR 10,000  |  2nd — PKR 5,000  |  Singles — Boys & Girls

• Knockout system; international table tennis rules apply.
• Each game played to 11 points; best of 3 games per match.
• If score reaches 10-all, play continues until one player leads by 2.
• Each player serves 2 consecutive points before switching server.
• Offensive or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
• The referee's decision will be considered final.

THEMATIC VIDEO DESIGN

Teams create short videos based on assigned themes, showcasing creativity, storytelling, and technical production skills.

Prizes: 1st — PKR 20,000  |  2nd — PKR 10,000  |  Max 3 members

• Themes will be announced on the spot at the start of each round.
• Teams have a maximum of 2 hours to shoot, edit, and submit their video.
• Video lengths: Round 1 — 3 min, Round 2 — 5 min, Round 3 — 10 min.
• Participants are free to move anywhere on campus for shooting.
• Videos must be original; copied, political, offensive, or copyrighted content → disqualification.
• Videos must be submitted in MP4 format in the specified folder.
• Teams must bring their own equipment: laptops, cameras, and software.

Final Notes

• The organising committee reserves the right to modify rules if necessary.
• Any misconduct or violation may result in disqualification.
• All participants are expected to maintain professionalism and sportsmanship.
